Introduction of Graphene into LCD technology will give a new dimension in developing ultra thin displays. Basically graphene is a is a one atom thick planar sheet of sp-2 bonded atoms which is arrannged in a hexagonal/ honey-comp manner, and its the structural element of all raphitic materials including graphite, carbon nanotubes and fullerenes.
Tiny liquid crystals with electrodes/ channels as graphene leads to the development of extremely thin displays in near future, though graphene is only one atom think, it can facilitate ultra think electron channels. Also graphine facilitates high electron mobility even in room temperatures. Graphene can be easily made by chemical modification of Graphite.
Graphene can also be used in semiconductor industry, as channels in FET.
